Faith Formation (Children)

Faith Formation is designed to supplement parental efforts to educate their children in our faith. Our teachers, all volunteers, are devoted to this special ministry. They provide instruction in our faith, as well as a living example of following in the ways of Jesus. The over-all goal of the program is for God’s Word to take root and live in the hearts and minds of our children. Like Paul, we are servants of the Church and are challenged to teach our children this message and its value in their everyday lives.

Faith Formation classes are held on Wednesdays at 6:00 pm (Pre-K held on Sundays at 10:00 am) in the Parish Center from September–May. Classes are available for children from age 3–8th grade. Children in the 2nd grade will be prepared to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, both of which take place in the spring. Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation is a two-year process; the pre-confirmation year begins in the 7th Grade.

There is an established curriculum for all grade levels. During the course of the year, students also participate in craft-making, fundraising, serving the Church family and the community, celebrating Church holidays, and various other activities. Our program requires and encourages parental support and involvement.

Registration for Faith Formtion classes takes place every August for the following school year; click here to access the Faith Formation Registration Form (en Espanol). Dates are published in the Church Bulletin. For further information, contact the Director of Religious Education at 843-249-2356, ext 22.
