Cancer Care Ministry
The Cancer Care Ministry brings God's love to parishioners impacted by cancer. Trained ministers walk alongside our fellow parishioners throughout the cancer journey. The parishioner may be the patient, a caregiver or a family member.
The ministry offers:
- Individual support through conversation, prayer, reading scripture or listening to favorite music (phone calls, text, email, home visits or meeting for Mass or a meal/coffee)
- Practical support - ministers arrange support for daily activities such as housecleaning, yard work, small home repairs, rides to treatment, picking up medications
- Caregiver fellowship - in person meeting offering an opportunity for caregivers to get to know other caregivers in an informal setting, to share experiences and offer spiritual support
- Rosary Prayer Service - quarterly prayer service with prayer focused on those touched by cancer
The Cancer Care Ministers are parishioners of Our Lady Star of the Sea church. All have experienced their own cancer journey, as a patient, a caregiver, or, in some cases, both. We are open to discussions with our fellow parishioners at any time about the mission of our ministry and how we may support you and your family.

All information regarding a specific individual's cancer diagnosis is kept confidential.
